Well, the question and answer to that should be WHY NOT? This is your life and your goals. Why not you? And why wait? Let’s shut out the negative voices and those default excuses in your head. This is the time to make action plans and feel excited. Motivation needs to lead to action.
I know we are all busy people, but exercise is not an indulgence – it should be on your priority list. Let’s try to build it into a daily routine that becomes part of your life. Your health is so important in helping you live longer, better, happier lives. And if you’re healthier, you’ll feel more able to cope with work, family and the crazy curveballs life throws at you.
A lot of women give up on their dreams, or at least put them on hold, for their children’s lives or their partner’s. We often put ourselves on the back burner, pushing our desires further down the to-do list. But what about your ambitions? What about your needs and feeling good? Don’t give up on your dreams, on who you are and what you want. Ignore the inner voices that say you can’t or shouldn’t, or should wait while everyone else makes their plans. Your attitude is crucial in driving you towards your goal. If you say to yourself you can, you will!
It’s taken me five years to make those changes, (some huge and scary, some small) to get closer to the life I want. It was like flicking a switch and once I got started, my plans made total sense! I really believe that baby steps can win the race, so set yourself a few goals. Write them down somewhere and give yourself an achievable time-frame. Long-lasting benefits will come when you start making small, realistic but positive promises to yourself. You’ll be surprised at what you can put your mind to and achieve!
